Coming soon: How do the parties plan to tackle inequality?

As the 2026 election approaches, we’ll be tracking and comparing the policies political parties are putting forward — and asking what they could mean for inequality in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We’ll look at policies across areas such as tax, incomes, housing, health, education and public services, with a particular focus on whether they are likely to reduce inequality, improve fairness and widen opportunity.
