The Global Protest to #FightInequality was powerful – thankyou and what next?
We started the decade with a huge protest to #FightInequality that was heard around the world, including the 1% at Davos.
A huge thank you. Together we made it happen. In 30 countries from Zimbabwe to Zambia, India to Indonesia, Philippines to Panama, Bolivia to Bangladesh, Hungary to Honduras, Ghana to Guatemala, people on the frontlines of inequality stood up to demand a different economic system – one that serves people and the planet, not the 1%.
Our message that it is time for billionaires to be abolished grabbed media headlines, as did our marches, rallies, festivals, street plays, murals, town hall meetings and music where people put forward radical solutions to the inequality crisis.
We reached millions with our message and demands to fight inequality, and showed elites that this movement is not going away in 2020. In fact we have only just started. Add your national media coverage here.
Help learn from the global protest
Our movement is growing. Please help evaluate the Global Protest so we can capture everything we achieved and learn for the future as we all plan ahead from this amazing week.
What worked well, what could have been better, and what you hope for the future of our campaigning together around the world? We’d also like to know more about how your national work went this time round.
So please fill in this survey and share it with anyone else – in your networks and movements – who might also like to have their say. We want to hear from all of you. If you are part of a national alliance, please meet with your other national allies to evaluate and gather learnings together, and plan for the year.
Fill in the form attached and return it to Uyanda Mabece ([email protected]) by Friday 17 February.
In solidarity and hope for 2020,
Global Convenor – Fight Inequality Alliance
