COULD ALL LOCAL GROUP CO-ORDINATORS PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH THEIR LOCAL GROUP MEMBERS – MANY THANKS!
It’s a short but packed one this month with news and actions to take part in:
FROM RESEARCH TO ACTION – we released our latest research digest on social mobility at the end of February and then sent it to every single MP. We would be most grateful if you could follow up with them by taking this action – many thanks. Yesterday’s government-commissioned report on last year’s riots only served to highlight the problems associated with inequality, crushed life chances and the violent reaction that can bring. If you also wish to write to your local press in response to this report, mentioning our digest, you can do soby clicking here.
ACT LOCAL CAMPAIGN – we have produced a web-page to help people reply to some of the things that Councillors have been saying in response to our campaign. Do keep letting us know about the responses you receive – good or bad – and we’ll keep updating the page.
LOCAL GROUPS UPDATE – we had a great strategy day on 24th March with representatives from the local groups. As well as being an enjoyable day, it was hugely productive and I’m sure that we will make even more progress now that we have addressed certain key issues. Thanks to all the groups who took part in the consultation and to everyone who gave up their Saturday to take part. If you want to get involved in local campaigning to reduce inequality, check out our list of local groups. If there’s not one near you and you think you might want to start one, please contact me.
AND FINALLY… CALLING ALL ANDROIDS – if you have an Android phone we would like to invite you to test a beta-version of our proposed new app. If you (a) understood that last sentence and (b) are interested in helping out, please contact Kathryn Busby at: [email protected]

Best Wishes, Bill.
